You’ve probably heard of RoboLights, the popular light display set up by Kenny Irwin Jr. that’s 30 years old and has become a tourist attraction. This attraction features eight million lights and displays that range from robotic creatures to plastic aliens. There are also displays of electronic equipment made into unusual shapes. Visitors can walk through the dazzling exhibit or drive beneath it to see the creatures up close. RoboLights is free and open only on certain nights, but it’s worth seeing if you can.

If you’re into celebrity culture, check out Sonny Bono Statue. The movie star was married to Cher and together they became the singing duo. He also served as a congressman from 1995 to 1998. Unfortunately, he died in a tragic skiing accident, but the city’s tribute to him lives on. The statue of Bono, which depicts the famous movie star smiling, was created in his honor. This monument is one of the free things to do in Palm Springs.
