Random Facts About Palm Springs

The city of Palm Springs is located in the Coachella Valley. The town has long been a gay-friendly destination, and in 2017 the city council was made up of all-LGBTQ members. Palm Springs was originally home to the Cahuilla tribe. In the late 19th century, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians established a reservation in the area, representing the tribal homeland. The Agua Caliente Reservation includes remnants of the tribe’s existence, including rock art, trails, and house pits.

The town is perfect for outdoor adventure, with nearby mountains and canyons for rock climbing. You can also go horseback riding through the desert. Palm Springs also has great golf courses and tennis courts. If you don’t feel like spending all your time outdoors, you can simply relax in one of the city’s pools and spas.

The city is home to several museums and attractions that feature interesting art. The Moorten Botanical Garden has approximately 3000 cacti from around the world. It also features a rare chance to see desert tortoises. You can also check out the Graffiti Yard, located on Museum Way and Belardo Road.

Palm Springs is also a popular vacation spot for celebrities. Tours of the former home of Elvis Presley can be done during your stay. And if you’re looking for a more family-friendly vacation, you can visit the cabaret where Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin performed. There are plenty of things to do in Palm Springs for kids and adults alike.
