If you’re not into the touristy things, check out the local attractions instead.

Golf courses are another way to enjoy the sunny weather. More than a dozen public and private courses are in the Coachella Valley. All are open year-round. Jack Nicklaus’ course, Mountain Course at La Quinta Resort & Club, is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the state. Other courses include SilverRock Golf Club, which is surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. In addition to golfing, Palm Springs has a variety of shopping centers and dining options.
