For art lovers, there are a few art museums in the city. The Palm Springs Art Museum features works by early 20th century artists as well as contemporary works of art. The museum also has an extensive natural science collection. You can also check out sculptures, photography, and glass art at the Annenberg Theater. You can even watch live performances at the venue. And if you’re the kind of person who likes to spend a lot of time staring at statues, Palm Springs has plenty of them.
The city is a favorite summer vacation spot for Hollywood stars. Tours of Elvis Presley’s former home are available to visitors. The town also has a cabaret lounge where Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra used to perform. With a wide variety of unique activities, Palm Springs is the perfect destination for the entire family. Some travelers even bring their kids along for the experience.
For the family, there are plenty of museums for kids. The Palm Springs Art Museum features modern art, contemporary glass, and sculpture in a 150,000-square-foot facility. In addition to the museum, there are a number of outdoor art installations and sculpture gardens. One of the most unusual attractions is the Volkswagen Spider Sculpture. It looks like a giant metal spider with a Volkswagen beetle body. It stands in a private compound that was formerly an auto repair shop. The sculpture was built by Robert Miner, who also owned the Hole In The Wall Welding Shop.
